Returns & Exchanges

The Things I Love has a very simple return and exchange policy:

What is an allowable return or exchange?

  • To return or exchange non-holiday, non-customized merchandise with a factory defect, contact us and we will work as mediator between you and the manufacturer to resolve your issue. Depending on the situation, you either will be fully responsible for any return based Shipping and Processing fees as required by the manufacturer or, when approved by management, The Things I Love will split the manufacturer’s delegated Shipping and Processing fees with you.
  • If your returning item is based on the item not being what you expected, then The Things I Love will give you equal store credit upon safe return of the item, less the cost of shipping as a re-stocking fee and any shipping damages due to poor packaging for the return trip.
  • Holiday merchandise is subject to the following: All Halloween merchandise must be returned unused by 11/21/10; all Christmas merchandise must be returned unused by 1/15/11; or 30 days from the date of purchase (whichever occurs later).
  • Personalized and monogrammed orders that cannot be cancelled are not returnable.
  • All returned items must be in their original packaging and in the condition in which they were received. This goes especially on Rug Returns, which are absolutely only accepted if returned in an undamaged original shipping bag. If the original bag is unusable, contact us and we’ll be happy to send a return shipping bag for your use.
  • Damaged Goods are subject to a minimum 25% re-stocking fee.

How is a return or exchange accomplished?

  • Non-store location returns (returns which are not walked into our store location by you) can be shipped via any carrier of your choice (UPS, FedEx, USPS, and the like) for any item weighing less than 25lbs. to The Things I Love, please follow these easy steps:
    • Photocopy your packing slip for your records and include the original with the item(s) you are sending back.
    • Place the carrier’s shipping label onto your package.
    • If your original package is unusable, please use similar packaging with sufficient packaging protection.
    • Pay the carrier’s shipping charge for return shipping.
  • Items greater than 25lbs may vary in how they are handled, therefore we require you to contact us so we can coordinate the pick-up and return delivery.

Customized/Personalized Items
Any items that are monogrammed, customized, or made-to-order cannot be modified, returned, or exchanged after the order has been placed, unless damaged or defective.

International Returns
The Things I Love fully supports manufacturers’ warranties, however our return guarantee does not include freight charges for international returns. If for any reason you choose to return a product from outside the U.S., international shipping charges must be pre-paid.
